Justin Bieber's website gets hacked
Justin Bieber is the most recent victim of Internet pranks as hackers were able to gain access to his YouTube page. His fans were given false reports that he had died in a car crash, while some others who tried to view the page were redirected to porn sites.
Bieber's followers were sent into a frenzy on Sunday, July 4, when they were forwarded links to clips saying that the Canadian teen sensation had passed away.
The infiltrators also embedded links in the page which redirected users to obscene websites. Execs from Google, owner of YouTube, made immediate actions to address the issue and it was fixed within hours.
"We took swift action to fix a... vulnerability on Youtube.com that was discovered several hours ago. Comments were temporarily hidden by default within an hour, and we released a complete fix for the issue in about two hours. We're continuing to study the vulnerability to help prevent similar issues in the future," Google said in a statement.
