Justin Bieber unseats Lady Gaga as the most-searched celebrity
Teen sensation Justin Bieber has beaten Lady Gaga as the most searched for celebrity on the Internet. The Canadian pop star went on top of the music charts worldwide last summer with the release of his debut song "One Time" and has gained a massive fan following on his first year in the industry.
Bieber, who was discovered on YouTube.com by record label execs, has been hailed as the king of the web. There are more searches for the 16-year-old than anyone else in the world, including previous champion Gaga.
Search engine Ask Jeeves said that the singer scored three times as many searches as soccer star David Beckham.
"The Bieber is an online sensation so it's fitting he now rules the search engines. It's as though to millions he only exists on the net," a representative for Ask Jeeves said.
