Julia Roberts has been chosen as the new face of Givenchy, it has been revealed. The 47-year-old actress has reportedly been chosen by Givenchy's creative director Riccardo Tisci for the brand's Spring Summer 2015 campaign. The "Pretty Woman" actress has shot for the campaign in a very tomboyish kind of way by wearing a black suit.

Givenchy's ad campaign has been shot by ace photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot and the pictures can be seen here. The actress has been styled by Katy England, according to Daily Mail. Givenchy has reportedly called Julia as a "generational icon of beauty and elegance" who showcases "all facets of that character with strength and eternal style."

Riccardo Tisci told Yahoo.com that he has chosen the actress for his brand because Julia is not only a wonderful actress but also a very good-looking American woman. For his campaign, Riccardo wanted a woman who is "more mature, beautiful, talented, but also unpretentious." Julia fitted the bill, the brand's director told the news website.

Riccardo also revealed in the interview that he is a fan of Julia Roberts and still remembers seeing her movie "Pretty Woman" when he was just 13-years-old. The creative director of the brand then also talked about how he wanted to create a "strong" campaign showcasing Julia as she is in her real life. Riccardo revealed that Julia does not like to wear make-up in real life and likes wearing boyish clothes. Check out her pictures here.

"The campaign is quite strong because people want to see Julia in the way she is on screen, but in real life she's much more tomboyish, no make up," said Riccardo to the website

"This is everyday Julia, not what you see on the red carpet or in the movies. They're really honest portraits of her," he added.

The interviewer also talked to Julia Roberts about how she felt on "turning a supermodel" at this age and the actress said she could not have been more excited. Julia also praised Riccardo for his cool attitude and said the whole team made an effort to put her at ease during the shooting of the campaign.
