Gina Rodriguez, the lead actress of the new comedy series "Jane The Vrgin," won big at the Golden Globes this year, as she bagged the award for "Best Actress in a Comedy Series." The Latina actress spoke about the Latin community and was asked about the real status of her own virginity on the red carpet.

"Jane The Virgin" is one of the successful new shows of 2014-2015 television season. It has already been renewed for second season. Now, lead actress Rodriguez has made a name for herself by bagging the Best Actress Award at this year's Golden Globes for her performance in the series.

"It allows Latinos to see themselves in a beautiful light." said Rodriguez when she faced the press after receiving her award. She also talked about how people have the same stories despite belonging to different race and culture. She also thanked the rest of the cast as well as her family members for supporting her.

Earlier in the day, Rodriguez stepped on the Red Carpet and revealed that she has been asked several questions about her sex-life in the real life, after she started playing the role of Jane. The character had taken a pledge to save herself until she got married but accidentally gets impregnated through artificial insemination by a distraught doctor. Jane told E News reporter Giuliana Rancic that the fans constanly ask her if she is actually a virgin in real life and she said that she tells them that it's none of their business. She also said that she feels that the question is inappropriate and joked that her boyfriend isn't happy about the questions.

The renewal of the series and Rodriguez's Best Actress win add support to the claim that she is "The Next Big Thing" on television. When asked about being seen as the rising star, Rodriguez said that it motivates her to work harder. She explained that she wants to work hard to prove that she is worthy of being given such a title.

On the Red Carpet, Rodriguez showed off her Latina curves in a simple black Badgley Mischka gown. The breakout star of the season said that she went through nearly 7,000 dresses but kept coming back to the second gown that she had tried on. Rodriguez is a first-time nominee and a first time winner at the Golden Globe Awards.
