In next week’s episode of the FOX drama series “Gotham,” Theo Galavan (James Frain) finally sets Barbara Keane loose (Erin Richards). She goes after Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the GCPD chases after her. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]

Now that detective Jim Gordon knows his true colours, Mayor Galavan knows that the cop needs to be killed before he tries to put an end to the Galavan’s carefully planned nefarious activities. This means that it’s time to unleash the secret weapon that he’s been keeping, Jim’s ex-girlfriend, Barbara.

SInce breaking her out of Arkham Asylum at the start of the season, Barbara has hardly been utilised. She was allowed to create a diversion when Galavan’s goons massacred cops inside the Gotham City Pollce Department, but she has otherwise been bored at home.

In the trailer for Episode 8 titled “Tonight’s the Night,” Galavan casually orders Barbara to kill Jim Gordon. She enthusiastically accepts her mission and appears to be able to find Jim very quickly. Jim's partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) knows that Barbara is setting up a trap for Jim, and Capt. Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis) wonders what her plans are. [scroll down for video]

Meanwhile, Jim’s new girlfriend, Dr. Lesley Thompkins (Morena Baccarin), is worried that Barbara is still able to have a hold on Jim. However, he insists that he is only going after her because it’s part of his job. The question is, can he pull the trigger on Barbara when the situation calls for it?

According to the synopsis shared by TV Guide, Theo Galavan will be attempting to make some kind of a deal with the young Bruce Wayne, while the GCPD is distracted and in hot pursuit of Barbara.

Elsewhere, ED Nygma continues his journey down a dark murderous path. He has now committed his second murder and was nearly tempted into a third. IN the upcoming episode, he is set to encounter a familiar ace and it remains to be seen how this affects his already fragile mental state.
