The latest Google Nexus 6 concept image seemed to be crossing the phablet market.

Deviantart User StonGreen imagined the next Google smartphone to sport a larger screen display and slimmer built. The render slightly resembles a Sony smartphone. This concept image sports an edge-to-edge screen display and larger Android icons.

According to Concept-Phones, the new Google phone is quite long and less wide. The device seemed to have ditched the front-facing camera. The camera button was placed in the lower right edge of the handset. The side buttons are very discrete, especially the on/off button.

Apparently, this Sony-inspired handset sports a Cinema 4D. Also, the handset has a lot of edges and very rectangular in shape.

Google Nexus 6 release date is expected to occur in summer and Lenovo will be taking the helm in making the Nexus smartphone. Reports said Google Nexus 6 will be launched between June and September.

Russian Analyst Eldar Murtazin initially said Lenovo will be in charge in developing Nexus 6 as Lenovo bought the Motorola Mobility from Google. Lenovo's acquisition of Motorola is almost complete, according to Apple Insider.

The new partnership between Google and Lenovo is a good move to the former to reach a wider market, especially in Asia as Lenovo is a big player in the Chinese market. But the company has not disclosed the specs and features of the next Nexus smartphone.

If rumors proved to be true and Lenovo will indeed work on Google Nexus 6, the smartphone may take after Lenovo K900 smartphone. The handset has less stellar specs and features. It packed a 5.5-inch full HD screen display and sported a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for protection.

Under the hood, K900 is powered by a dual core Intel Atom chipset clocked at 2 GHz and 2500 mAh battery capacity. As for the camera, Lenovo's handset has a 13 megapixel camera at the back and 2 megapixel front-facing camera. But there is a lot of room for improvement that may happen in Google's next-gen handset.
