The sibling rivalry of Jon Snow and Sansa Stark may continue in “Game of Thrones” Season 7. Kit Harington described this as a “real problem” for his character in a video released online.

[Spoiler alert]

Sansa (Sophie Turner) was denied the opportunity to take over the position of her brother Robb (Richard Madden), even though it was her friendship with Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) that helped them defeat the Boltons. It was her brother Jon (Kit Harington) who was instead made King in the North, despite that fact that he doesn’t carry the Stark name.

In the video, Harington descried the “heart” of the show as being about “dysfunctional families.” Talking about the source of the lack of warmth between the siblings, Turner explained that since she was little Sansa always looked up to her mother and had taken on her mother’s views on everything.

Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) never liked Jon Snow “because of the whole affair thing.” Turner pointed out that this doesn’t mean that there isn’t any love between her character and Jon Snow, and described the relationship as having some “typical sibling rivalry.”

The lack of trust between the siblings may hurt Jon Snow in “Game of Thrones” Season 7, especially since he is now in a precarious situation as the King in the North. Harington said that his character hasn’t learned his lesson yet. He explained that his character is not paying attention to what his sister is feeling.

Jon Snow asked his sister to trust him in one of the scenes in the previous season, but he personally is not “listening, watching and observing her,” according to Harington. This, the actor said, could be a “real problem” for his character.

Turner said that Jon Snow has been named King in the North and Sansa is getting “no credit” for what she did. Besides this, the new king “doesn’t acknowledge” what his sister has done for him. The actress said that her character is not looking for any praise, as she did it to get revenge and get her home back. However, Turner called the new king “naïve.”

Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) also said that Jon running Winterfell may not sit well with Sansa in “Game of Thrones” Season 7. He teased that she might “have a problem” with her brother running things. Her relationship with her brother is an “indication of what’s going to come,” the actor said. “I’m not sure it’s gonna be pretty,” he added.
