Perhaps the person most relieved after the Jon Snow twist in “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is Melisandre. The character was beginning to lose her faith after the events in the last season. In a recent interview, Carice van Houten talked about the twist and teased the future of her character.

[Spoiler alert]

Houten told HBO that she had been waiting for the Jon Snow (Kit Harington) resurrection scene because she had been forced to lie to the fans. She pointed out that no one would have wanted her to spoil the story and so she had to lie “for the greater good.”

Melisandre doesn’t fully understand this new power and is in a state of confusion. Jon Snow’s return helped her regain a little bit of her faith at a time when she was feeling vulnerable.

The first thing Melisandre asked after Jon Snow’s return was about what he saw on the other side. Houten revealed that her character, like anyone else, felt disappointed upon learning that there was “nothing” after death.

Talking about the future of her character in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Houten said that Melisandre will slowly start to regain her faith and confidence. She will also start to see a place for herself in a world where her king is dead.

Meanwhile, Tom Wlaschiha spoke to HBO about his character. Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar or Faceless Man) said that his character has a soft spot for Arya (Maisie Williams). He said that Jaqen picked Arya for a reason and he was not going to make it easy for her.

Wlaschiha revealed that the story is now moving towards the climax. As “Game of Thrones” Season 6 continues, Jaqen plans to train Arya into the best possible weapon that she can be, however that may not be something that the little girl wants.
