With his fight against WBC and WBA Super welterweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez looming in, Floyd Mayweather is already making plans of knocking out the Mexican boxer.

"A lot of times, I hit these guys and they go into survival mode. Even in the Robert Guerrero fight, I was looking for the knockout, but as y'all can see, my hand hurt - I hurt my hand in the fightv... so I wasn't impressed with myself for that fight because I didn't get the knockout. But this time around, I'm looking for the knockout," said the undefeated American boxer in an interview with FightHype.com.

The anticipated bout, happening on Sept 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, will be the first time Mayweather and Alvarez will be facing each other in the ring. They will be defending their respective titles: Canelo's WBC, WBA 'regular' and The Ring Magazine's Middleweight titles, and Mayweather's WBA 'super' lightweight.

Mayweather, the current best pound-for-pound rated boxer, has been busy preparing for his upcoming fight with Canelo. Just on Thursday, Aug 29, he conducted an open media workout for boxing fans:

The 22-year-old Alvarez has also been busy with his training hard the past weeks. The Mexican boxer, who feels like he's being underestimated, will attempt to prove the critics wrong after his fight with the American boxer.

"I think a lot of people underestimate me, but those people are mostly critics, reporters. You never hear anything from the guys I fight. It's only from those outside the ring that think I am beatable," Canelo said in a statement.

"I'm not coming just to fight, I'm coming to win," he was quoted saying.
