After a very brief journey to the Flashpoint alternate timeline, Barry Allen is back to the real world. This time however, there are some repercussions of his decision. Also, it is very likely that viewers will be introduced to one Barry’s biggest villains both in the comic books and possibly in the series too.

The promo for episode 2 of season 3 of “The Flash” teases that viewers will get to see Dr. Alchemy on the episode since the season premiere’s ending suggested it. After Barry Allen and Reverse-Flash travelled back in time to kill Nora Allen, Edward Clariss awoke in the midst of the night to something he heard in his head. The voice calls him again and as he gets out of bed, he sees the word “ALCHEMY” etched into the mirror.

It has already been revealed since the 2016 San Diego Comic Con that Savitar and Dr. Alchemy will be joining the show as the main villains in the third season. Even though it was revealed that the Flashpoint plot would not last all season, fans did not expect that it would last just one episode. This, however, means that there are even more exciting details in store for its viewers since one of the densest stories in Flash’s comic book plot did not last very long.

The promo for “The Flash” season 3 episode 2 also teases some changes in the show’s most visible characters. These are mostly notable for those of Cisco and Felicity Smoak and although there have been no hints about Julian Albert, the teaser is more focused on Dr. Alchemy.

Although Dr. Alchemy has not yet been officially introduced in the show, it is quite odd that of all characters, he chose to communicate with Edward Clariss. Also considering that Dr. Alchemy chose a mirror to get a message across could be a hint to Mirror Master, who is also expected to appear in the show in its third season.

“The Flash” airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. on The CW. It also airs on Fox in Australia.
