Jamie Dornan might have turned 32, married and with one child, but the Irish actor still has the chops to make women swoon as he portrays the dominant Christian Trevelyan Grey in the upcoming Valentine's movie "Fifty Shades of Grey."

The now 32-year-old actor celebrated his birthday on May 1, giving him a total of thirty two years worth of achievements as a son, brother, friend, actor, model, husband and a father. Dornan was reported to have married English songstress Amelia Warner in 2013, and now he is a father to a five-month-old daughter.

People might have first heard the name Jamie Dornan only recently, but Dornan has been making his way in the entertainment industry prior to being cast for the lead role in the movie adaptation of E.L. James' Fifty Shades.

A guy from Belfast, Northern Island, the Fifty Shades of Grey star apparently had big dreams for himself that he flew to the U.S. to pursue a career in acting. However, it appears that no silver platter has been handed out to him.

"Although it looks like I've only been acting a few years, we're talking hundreds and hundreds of failed auditions," Dornan told The Guardian. "I look back on it now and I don't know how anyone gets through the rejection."

Apparently, the reason Jamie Dornan has been able to get through the industry, according to the report, is his modeling career. He used to model for American fashion house Calvin Klein, giving him a name as an "underwear model."

"I was lucky. If I hadn't been getting paid to model I definitely would have stopped. I would fly off, do a shoot here and there, get paid well, then go back to preparing - and failing - for auditions and meetings," the Fifty Shades star also revealed during the Web site's interview.

The 32-year-old actor is not particularly active on social media so he has not been an easy target for the press. In fact, Dornan seems to remain as tight-lipped as possible compared to her co-stars in Fifty Shades. But the actor does have a Twitter account @JamieDornan1, wherein he was last heard tweeting in March.

And though he hasn't been especially lucky in his previous auditions, Dornan has been blessed to be cast for Fifty Shades of Grey after "Sons of Anarchy" actor Charlie Hunnam reportedly pulled out from the lead role. Dornan is now playing as Christian Grey alongside actress Dakota Johnson, who is playing as the submissive Anastasia Steele.

Prior to Fifty Shades, Dornan's biography on IMDb affirms that he has appeared in the TV series "Once Upon a Time," "The Fall," which has won him two Irish awards and a BAFTA nomination, "Flying Home" and a couple of other short films and TV appearances. The Fifty Shades actor is now playing as Abe Goffe in the new TV series "New Worlds."

But for the most-awaited part, Jamie Dornan will be seen gracing silver screens as Fifty Shades of Grey hits theatres on Feb. 13, 2014.
