The synopsis of “Hong Kong Hustle” indicates that the female detective, who Beckett sees as a better version of herself, may not be who she seems to be. Actress Linda Park is playing the role of this Hong Kong cop, Inspector Zhang.

Describing Linda’s character, David Amann said to TV Line that she is “kind of like Beckett, except even better, so that puts Beckett in a bit of a tailspin, to be dealing with somebody who in her eyes is more accomplished and proficient.”

In the sneak peek, Beckett is seen comparing herself to the cop from Hong Kong. She can be seen telling Castle that she has allowed Zhang to take over her interview because she is more than qualified. She also tells Castle that the cop from Hong Kong is the youngest officer to become the chief inspector. Also, Zhang has cleared maximum number of murder cases in Hong Kong police department history. According to Beckett, the female detective is not only good at her job but she also has a great personal life. She is married to action movie star and has two cute kids. At the end of the clip, Beckett is seen telling Castle, “She is just like me, only better.” It looks like Beckett is driving her husband crazy because of her continuous comparison and conclusion that Zhang is a better version of herself.

Meanwhile, TV Line has also reported that episode 18 is going to be a Ryan-centric episode. For the episode, Ricardo Chavira has been roped in to guest-star as Alex Lopez, a popular congressman, while Reiko Aylesworth is starring in the episode as Lopez’s wife, Mia. According to the report, Ryan, who has been working part-time at his brother-in-law’s private security company, gets caught in the middle of a situation when an incident takes place while he and his brother-in-law are guarding the congressman. David Conrad is making an appearance as Ryan’s brother-in-law Frank, while Heather Mazur plays Gwen, Frank’s wife and Ryan’s sister.
