The Season 2 of "The Blacklist" has gone on a long break after killing two main players of the show, Berlin and Fitch. It is Berlin's high-tech collar bomb that killed Fitch, while Red shot Berlin. The new episode of "The Blacklist" Season 2 is scheduled to air on Super Bowl Sunday.

As previously reported, "The Blacklist" Season 2 has got itself a new timeslot. After airing episode 9, after the Super Bowl, on Feb. 01, 2014, "The Blacklist" will move to Thursday nights.

Speaking about the Super Bowl episode, Joe Carnahan, executive producer of "The Blacklist," has said to Forbes that it is "more of a contained episode." He also said that the upcoming episode is "just more of a return to kind what the Anslo Garrick episodes were last year, which I had a lot of fun doing." Carnahan is said to be writing this episode and he is also donning the director's hat.

Carnahan also told Forbes, "It's not dissimilar, and yet it is in a... there's more of a Liz/Red kind of conundrum in this one that I think's really interesting, [as well as] what they're hunting, what they're looking for in this particular episode."

Before the bomb killed Fitch, he asked Red if he has the Fulcrum and also he revealed to him a combination of a safe in St. Petersburg. He could not tell Red the exact address of the safe. It is expected that Red will look for this safe in the upcoming episode. Also, as previously reported, there is some connection between Liz and the Fulcrum. Spoiler report has revealed that Red will be risking his life to protect Liz.

For the Super Bowl episode, Ron Perlman has been roped in to play the main villain. TV Guide has reported that the character's name is Luther Braxton. The report describes the ruthless character as a "meticulous thief who plans his international heists over the course of several months or years." Braxton is known for creating "diversions" and "chaos" to grab what he sets his sights on. According to TV Guide's report, the face-off with Red is going to put a break on his ruthless strategy.
