Bad day in the kitchen gets MasterChef favourite kicked out
It has always been believed that contestant Marion Grasby was the judges' favourite. However, that didn't give her any help when she got eliminated from Network Ten's reality television competition MasterChef.
Grasby wasn't able to impress the judges during the satay cook-off on Thursday night which caused her to be ejected from the popular show.
"Of course I'm disappointed, but when the judges told me I was out of the competition I had a great sense of calm," she said.
"Everyone has a bad day in the kitchen and it was just my time to have a bad day.
"I have no regrets at all.
"I never took anything for granted and whenever I walked into the MasterChef kitchen I always treated it as though it was my last day, so it wasn't a shock for me, just disappointing."
The 27-year-old, who was a former Brisbane-based journalist, enrolled in the Master of Arts in Gastronomy program conducted jointly by the University of Adelaide and Cordon Bleu,
She was very popular with the public, particularly online, and was predicted to become this year's MasterChef champ. But she denies that the pressure to be 'number one' caused her meltdown.
"I don't think it was a case of pressure," Grasby said.
"I just had a bad day in the kitchen.
"People always said that I was the favourite, but I never felt that. I'm only human and I know that you can't always be perfect."
