A new theory about “Avengers 4” will make fans watch all the previous movies more closely. What if Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) knew everything all along? This question is the centre of the new theory. The following article contains spoilers.

Anticipation is high about how the heroes will fix the “deaths” caused by Thanos (Josh Brolin). Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will be the key to the solution, whatever the “end game” is. A new fan theory looks at what this solution may be.

According to a report by ComicBook.com, a clue to Doctor Strange’s strategy will be revealed in the upcoming “Captain Marvel” movie. The film is set in the past, a time when Nick Fury was still a young man.

According to the fan theory, Cumberbatch’s character will visit Nick Fury in the post credits scene in “Captain Marvel.” Nick Fury will be given glimpses of the future, and possibly instructions to let things play out the way it should, in order to set up the big end game against Thanos.

A clue to how this has already played out in the Marvel movies comes with the phenomenal success of Nick Fury, who was able to quickly rise through the ranks to become the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. The fan theory points out how the character appears at the right moment at the right place in many of the movies, and he somehow knows exactly what needs to be said or done in order to succeed.

Nick Fury’s success in forming the Avengers team with heroes who don’t always agree with each other, and his other feats, suggest that he already knew a lot right from the beginning. Did Doctor Strange show him the key events of the future long ago? Fans will have to wait and watch “Avengers 4” to find out.
