At an exclusive event in Sydney on Oct. 24, ASUS launched the world's first 3-in-1 laptop, the Transformer Book Trio. At the event, two more new devices also made their Australian debut - the ASUS Transformer Book T100 and the new generation Zenbook.

The ASUS Transformer Book Trio and the ASUS Transformer Book T100 both offer two parts dock design combing the features of laptop and a tablet, not to mention the ability to switch instantaneously.

The Transformer Book Trio

A laptop, desktop PC and tablet in one sleek design.

The Transformer Book Trio is the newest breed of ultraportable laptop. It can be utilised as a laptop, as a separate tablet by two people simultaneously and as a desktop PC. The Transformer Book Trio has a fourth gen Intel® CoreTM processor when used in its Windows 8 mode and an Intel® AtomTM processor when used as an Android tablet by detaching the 11.6 inches display from the "PC Station" keyboard. As such, the dock can be utilised as an independent Windows 8 desktop PC by connecting to an external monitor.

The Transformer Book Trio will be available starting late November at US$1 599.

The Transformer Book T100

A high-portable notebook and tablet in one.

The ASUS Transformer Book T100 is a sleek and detachable notebook and a tablet in one. This device features a 10.1 inches laptop with Intel® AtomTM Bay Trail-T Z3740 quadcore processor and an HD display which can be detached and utilised as a separate tablet in Windows 8.1. At present, the Transformer Book T100 is hailed as not only among the lightest 10 inches tablets available in the market at just 550g; it is also among the lightest ultraportable laptops at 1.07kg.

Its quadcore processor ensures smooth performance and preposterous energy efficiency, which lasts up to eleven hours of battery life. The dock of the keyboard features USB 3.0, keys that are precision-designed for extended and comfortable use and a multitouch touchpad that supports Windows 8.1 gesture. This sleek notebook also features an HD tablet IPS multitouch display with sharp images and viewing angle up to 178 degrees.

The Transformer Book T100 is now available at $599.

The Zenbook UX301and UX302

The Zenbook UX301 and UX302, known as next-generation ultrabooks feature a metallic 'Spun' design and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which adds a sheer hard-wearing coat finish.

The Zenbook gives sharp images with its 1920 x 1080 Full HD and 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution and 13.3 inches display. It is powered by fourth gen Intel® CoreTM processor hence, the smooth multitasking ability.

The Zenbook UX301 and UX302 will be available starting late November at $1 799.
