Xiaomi, the so-called "Apple of China," has launched its Xiaomi Mi 4 earlier than the real Apple's flagship product and is expected to have an upcoming clash with the upcoming iPhone 6.

Reports say Apple's iPhone 6 will most likely be launched on Sept 19, while the Xiaomi Mi 4 has officially been launched last July 22.

It seems like China has a clone for everything. This war between the two mobile titans in the tech market worldwide has intrigued consumers on features, specs and price comparisons.

"First impression of the Xiaomi Mi 4 from those images. It looks like an iPhone around the edges, and the back looks like a Samsung Galaxy Note. Disappointing that there aren't more original details in the Mi 4 body at a time when Xiaomi is trying to pay more attention to its hardware," reports from TechInAsia Liveblog.

According to GSMarena, the specifications, features and price for iPhone 6 is still unofficial, as Apple has yet to release confirmed updates about the device. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi 4 is still at its preliminary specifications.

Specifications

GSMarena reports both smartphones have 2G, 3G and 4G mobile networks which will provide users with faster data speed. They are almost the same in size. The iPhone 6 has dimensions of 5.12 x 2.56 x 0.28 inches with a weight of 113 g, while the Mi 4 has 5.48 x 2.70 x 0.35-inch dimension and weighs 149 g. Both also have a built-in loudspeaker and a 3.5-mm jack.

The iPhone 6 has an LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive multi-touch screen, 16M colours and 960 x 1,704 pixel resolution display. It is built with a shatter-proof sapphire crystal glass case with oleophobic coating which makes it water-resistant. Meanwhile, the Mi 4's display also is an IPS LCD capacitive multi-touch screen with 16M colours. The Mi 4 is IP67 certified, which means it is resistant to both water and dust. It has 1,080 x 1,920 pixel display size which is wider than of iPhone 6's display. In terms of pixel density, the Mi 4 has 441 ppi pixel density while the iPhone 6 has 416 ppi.

When it comes to internal memory, the iPhone 6 will be available in 16, 32, 64 or 128 GB, while the Mi 4 at 16 and 64 GB. The Mi 4 has greater CPU usage with its 3 GB RAM, while the iPhone 6 has only 2 GB RAM. Both smartphones will not support external SD card slots, according to GSMarena.

In terms of photo shooting and video recording, reports say Xiaomi installed 13-MP, 4128 x 3,096-pixel and dual-LED flash camera with autofocus on the Mi 4, while the iPhone 6 camera features 8 MP, 3,264 x 2,448 pixels, dual-LED flash and autofocus. The video of the iPhone 6 and Mi 4 is at 1,080p @ 60fps and 1,080p @ 30fps, respectively.

The iPhone 6 has a built-in Li-Po ~1,850-mAh battery, while the Mi 4 has a built-in Li-Ion 3,080-mAh battery. Both batteries are non-removable.

Features

According to reports, Apple's iPhone 6 is said to be powered by iOS 8 operating system with an Apple A8 chipset. It is expected to be run by a dual-core 2-GHz CPU. The iPhone 6 is believed to come in space grey, white or silver and gold colour variants.

The Mi 4 is using Android KitKat operating system v4.4.3 with Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset. It has a quad-core 2.5-GHz Krait 400 CPU and an Adreno 330 internal video card. Available colours are black and white, as per reports.

Prices

At "The Journey of a Piece of Steel" event launched this week, Xiaomi finally announced the prices for Mi 4. The 16-GB Mi 4 will be available at RMB 1,999 (around AU$340) while the 64-GB at RMB 2,499 (around AU$420 AUD), TechinAsia reports.

There is no official price for the iPhone 6 from Apple yet, but a leaked flyer reveals possible prices. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be sold at about AU$900 while the 5.5-inch variant will be AU$1100, according to GSMinsider.

The iPhone 6's specs, features and pricing are most likely to change since it is yet to be launched.
