Amazon is now selling the unlocked Moto G 2014 with a discount of $30 on its original price of $179. Most of the popular handsets are available with an on-contract price of $199, but the Motorola Moto G 2014 comes with an irresistible price tag.

Amazon is offering the unlocked US GSM as well as global GSM editions of the Moto G 2014 with 8 GB internal storage for $149. Both the versions are available in two colour options, white and black. Motorola Moto G 2014 is one of the few handsets that has already received the Android Lollipop update, states Android Central.

The unlocked US GSM version can support SIM cards from U.S. carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and others. The global version can support SIM cards from other countries outside the U.S.

The original Motorola Moto G 2013 has been replaced by the 2014 Moto G this year. The Moto G that was released last year was the most successful smartphone ever from Motorola and it came with a very affordable price tag of $179. The Moto G 2nd Gen was announced in September this year and since then the handset has gained good popularity. It also arrived with the same price tag of $179 but with better specs compared to the last year's model.

The Moto G from last year came with a 4.5-inch display with support for HD resolution. The newer handset comes with a bigger 5-inch display and supports HD resolution. Also, the Moto G 2013 came with a 5 MP camera and 1.3 MP front-facing camera. The Moto G 2nd generation is shipped with an 8 MP rear camera along with a 2 MP camera sitting at the front.

Last year's model did not feature an expansion card slot for adding a microSD. In this year, Motorola has included a microSD card slot on the 2nd gen Moto G. Users can add up to 32 GB of microSD card on the device. The Moto G 2013 and the Moto G 2014 are powered by the same Snapdragon 400 chipset and 2,070 mAh battery.
