Florida had so much bloodshed lately. Humans, such as the Pulse gunman, or animals, such as alligators, have been taking human lives the past few days.

And in both instances, the attacker searched for prey in the Disney complex. CNN reports that an alligator attacked a two-year-old boy and dragged him away while the family of five, vacationing from Nebraska, was relaxing at a sandy area near the Seven Seas Lagoon on a Disney hotel near Orlando.

UPDATED: The toddler was found dead about 16 hours after he was dragged into the lake. He was found near the spot where he was snatched, some 10 to 15 yards away. His body was intact, authorities confirmed, with few puncture wounds. The lake is about 200 acres and 14-feet deep in certain parts, CNN reports. The alligator could have drowned the boy, but there has so far been no indication that he was eaten alive.

Jerry Demings, sheriff of Orange County, shares that the child was wading in the water along the lake’s edge when the alligator attack happened. The father immediately jumped into the water when he saw the reptile grab his son. He tried to wrestle the boy from the gator’s mouth but failed, says Demings.

It is the first instance of an alligator attacking and grabbing people in the lagoon area based on the sheriff’s 35 years of law enforcement experience. He says officers would not leave the area until they have recovered the child from the reptile, estimated to be four to seven feet long.

A Disney spokeswoman told media, “Everyone here at the Walt Disney Resort is devastated by this tragic accident.”

Meanwhile, in another report, CNN says that Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, the Pulse gay disco gunman, visited the club and the Disney shopping complex in the early part of June. It was the same week that Disney and other sites were hosting Gay Days 2016.

A law enforcer estimates that Mateen went to these places between June 1 and 6, while those locations hosted Gay Days 2016 between May 31 and June 6. Noor Salman, Mateen’s wife, accompanied him to these two places although it is unclear at this point if she was aware of his intention to kill gays.
