The mother of the abandoned baby "Moses" will not face charges according to local police. The baby was left at a Kingston home, on the doorsteps of the Misa Family last Sunday at Logan, south of Brisbane.

The woman, according to the police, was in her 20's and was confirmed to be the baby's mother. Confirmation has not yet been received as to the current whereabouts of the mother, as of compiling this article.

The baby was found to be under-weight, but remains in good health and will stay at the hospital. The baby was nick-named by locals as "Moses." Police explained that no charges will be levied against the woman, as she had left the baby with extended family members. The baby was left behind with all provisions including nappies, formula and bottles. However, police did not confirm on the mother-child reunification.

The local Samoan community has rallied towards the baby. Church Reverend, Hohaia Matthews disclosed, "We had a time and prayer for the baby and for the mum." Matthews further added, "Obviously our concern is also for her and for a successful outcome."

The future of the baby remains undecided. The Misa's stated that they will continue to fight for custody, as they intended to fulfil the mother's wishes, and will resort to legal actions to keep the baby.

The police has confirmed on the closure of the case and added that no further information will be released.
