Xiaomi has plans to release a new Mi Pad 2 within the week. This Windows 10 tablet is believed to be the product of an exclusive tie-up with the China-based company's mid-range smartphone, Mi 4C.

Tech Times reports that the device has already been seen at the Chinese 3C Quality Certification Center, which could only mean it’s about to be launched into the wider tech market. Considering it’s been described as the fastest-growing tech company in China, Xiaomi may be hard at work at expanding to a bigger consumer market.

The upcoming tablet is expected to run on Windows 10 based on the analysis of IHS' Pan Jiutang. This information isn’t surprising since Xiaomi's testing of the new OS on its devices wasn’t a secret.

It remains unknown if Xiaomi will decide to come up with two variants for the Mi Pad 2. One could possibly run on Windows 10 while another could be on Android Lollipop. It’s also possible that the company will develop a dual boot tablet that will let users switch between two different operating systems with only a single tap.

The Mi Pad 2 is also rumoured to feature a 14 nm Intel processor, which will give the tablet enough power to run on Windows 10. It’s also expected to feature 4 GB of RAM as well as a 13 MP rear camera.

The tablet will also sport a 10-inch Quad HD screen with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Unfortunately, there has been no news about how much the device will cost, but Xiaomi is famous for launching high-quality units at budget prices.

Gizmo China has also confirmed that the tablet has the model number 2015716, runs on 5.0 volts and will be rated at 2A, which could point to more information regarding the Mi Pad 2's charger.
