Production details on “X-Men: Apocalypse” have been scarce. Aside from casting updates and Patrick Stewart’s confirmation that he will not be returning to the sequel, very few details have been revealed so far in terms of plot details. However, according to a recent report, while the older Professor Xavier may not be around Wolverine, Storm and Gambit may have cameo appearances in the film.

Movie scoopster Umberto Gonzalez, who has in the past also shared details about “Suicide Squad,” took to his Instagram page to reveal that sources have confirmed of Storm (Halle Berry), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Gambit’s (Channing Tatum) cameo roles in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Additionally, he claimed production on the sequel will officially start on April 28, with filming set to happen in Montreal. No further details were provided as to which part in the movie the characters are set to appear.

Cinema Blend has likewise reported the same information, also didn’t reveal the extent of the characters’ involvement in “X-Men: Apocalypse” in terms of plot details. However, as with cameo roles it’s supposedly just possible for Gambit, Wolverine and Storm to share a few minutes of screen time with returning characters Quicksilver, Beast and Mystique and also get to interact with the younger versions of Magneto, Cyclops, Jean Grey and Nightcrawler.

Comicbookmovie claimed Gambit having a cameo role in “X-Men: Apocalypse” would also be a good introduction for the character before he appears in his solo film on Oct. 7, 2016. There have reportedly been rumours of Ian McKellen possibly returning in the sequel as Magneto. So according to writer Josh Wilding, “perhaps the X-Men: Days of Future Past follow-up will return to that new continuity which was glimpsed at the end of last year's ‘inbetweenquel.’” However, as for Hugh Jackman, it’s still uncertain if what he gets is indeed just a cameo role as Wolverine in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” He could supposedly be in for a key role as well. If not, then his appearance according to Cinema Blend could be akin to his “X-Men: First Class” cameo.
