The next sample chapter of “Winds of Winter” could be read at the Worldcon event taking place in Kansas City, Missouri. George R.R. Martin has confirmed that he will be attending the event and will also reading some of his work.

In a blog post, Martin confirmed his schedule at the event will include reading at MidAmericon II Convention Center room 3501H on Friday at noon. The author did not confirm what he will be reading at the event.

One of the fans asked for hints about what he will be reading at the event. Martin answered the fan’s question about his first Worldcon reading, but remained silent on what he plans for the current event.

The author has set aside a lot of time for autographs. The author will spend 3: 00 pm to 4:30 pm on Thursday and 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm on Saturday signing autographs. Apart from the scheduled events in the convention; Martin plans to enjoy the event just like any other person going there.

“You'll see me at parties, wandering the dealer's room, enjoying the art shows, popping into other panels, attending the Hugo Awards, drinking at the bar, eating at various local restaurants and barbeque joints. And of course, I'm always glad to say hi. Especially at those parties. Parties are the soul of worldcon,” Martin wrote.

The author has requested his fans not to ask him to sign books or pose for photographs when they bump into him while enjoying the convention. The major focus at this event appears to be the “Wild Cards” series, which Martin previously announced is getting a TV adaption.

While Martin did not confirm a sample chapter of “Winds of Winter” at the Worldcon, he has confirmed signing of “Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” signing along with Gary Gianni.
