As a matter of fact, you can even get the device in time for the Holiday season because Google Play Store indicates that the device is ready for shipping in just 1-2 days, which means that UPS can send it to you this Thursday.

By December 11, the black Google Nexus 5 in 32GB "leaves the warehouse", same as the white 16GB model. According to the Android Police, you should order the black 16GB model earlier as it may not be released from the warehouse until December 13.

As of the moment, the Nexus 5 models are all in stock; as such, expect the dates to get pushed back especially if there are more orders. On the other hand, the stocks might be jolted if LG would be able to come up with larger shipment. Nonetheless, it is worth to spend extra bucks for the 32GB Nexus 5 and get it earlier.
