It is time for the swansong season of "White Collar." The final season's premiere episode is titled "Borrowed Time." The last season wrapped up with the abduction of Neal Caffrey by an unknown man and his tracking anklet was also thrown away. He was abducted right after Peter Burke informed him that the FBI's top bosses are not in favour of releasing him, as they see him as an asset. Also, Peter decided to not take up his Washington DC job.

The synopsis of the episode reveals that it is Rebecca's former associate who is holding Neal as his prisoner. Jim Boothe is his name. This guy wants to join the infamous gang of thieves, The Pink Panthers, and the only way he can get an entry into the club is by offering the diamond that the FBI has under its watch. Jim wants Neal to steal that diamond for him. If Neal refuses to do that, Jim threatens that he will push him down an elevator shaft. According to the synopsis, Neal has a better plan - "he thinks the situation calls for a grander gesture and, for his trouble, he expects something in return..."

In an interview with TV Line, Jeff Eastin, creator of the show, has said that they have looked at the six-episode final series as a mini-series. He also said that The Pink Panthers is the most dangerous group that Neal and Peter have ever gone up against.

Eastin told TV Line: "The thing about the Panthers that will figure heavily into the end of the series will be that these guys never, ever forget a slight. So if you double-cross them, they go after you and they go after everybody you know about or have ever met and/or are related to."

The last season also saw Elizabeth deciding to join her new job at Washington D.C. According to Eastin, Peter and Elizabeth will be unable to handle the long-distance relationship and will be seen trying to find a solution. The final season of "White Collar" focuses on the three men, Neal, Peter and Mozzie, and their relationship. Curtis Hagen and Matthew Keller are returning in the final season. The premiere episode is going to feature Rebecca.
