Wentworth Miller talks depression as if ‘Prison Break’s’ Michael Scofield is opening up to Dr. Sara Tancredi

“Prison Break” fans are well aware of those sweet, romantic moments between Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies). They loved it when Tancredi would rest her head on Scofield’s shoulder and express her fears regarding Scofield’s brain tumour or his deadly escape plan.

However, Miller recently opened up about his depression in reply to a meme that went viral on the Internet. Reading his apt reply, it seemed Scofield’s head was on Tancredi’s and he has been highly appreciated for being so open about his problem. The image ridiculed his past weight gain. “I've struggled with depression since childhood. It's a battle that's cost me time, opportunities, relationships, and a thousand sleepless nights,” Miller writes in reply to the post.

Miller began by stating that this meme stands from all other memes that have mocked him. He semi-retired from acting in 2010 due to a number of reasons and one of them was he was suicidal. He chose to suffer in silence and no one had a clue what he was going through, except very few people.

Miller considered himself “damaged goods” was ashamed and in pain. There were voice inside his head that lured him to the path of self-destruction.

“In 2010, at the lowest point in my adult life, I was looking everywhere for relief/comfort/distraction. And I turned to food. It could have been anything. Drugs. Alcohol. Sex. But eating became the one thing I could look forward to,” Miller writes.

Miller is glad he has survived and these photos remind him of his struggles. His perseverance and endurance against all kinds of demons made him proud.

Miller’s personal thoughts on his “bad days” come at a perfect time when all “Prison Break” revival puzzles are falling into place. Scofield will be back with brother Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) and Tancredi to light up the TV screens. Let Scofield-Tancredi romance blossom once again.

It has been revealed that “Prison Break” Season 5 may air sooner than expected. The buzz is that the show may be shifted to September 2016.
