After the heartbreaking and gut-wrenching "The Walking Dead" Season 5 midseason finale, the survivors face the aftermath and they are back on the road. A dear one died in the battle. The loss is a massive one for Daryl Dixon. Meanwhile, it is out that fan-favourite Daryl Dixon is not gay. Second-half of "The Walking Dead" Season 5 may introduce a new gay character.

"The Walking Dead" comic book writer Robert Kirkman revealed during the "Talking Dead" episode that Norman Reedus' character is not gay in the TV show.

"I can make it official: Daryl Dixon is actually straight," Kirkman said.

He explained that they "play Daryl Dixon as being somewhat asexual on the show." The show's creator said that the character is introvert. Earlier, Kirkman stated that Daryl Dixon might be gay and the fans were left confused as it was not clear. However, this new statement clears the air about the character's sexuality.

Fans have also linked Daryl with Beth as well as Carol. However, his good friend Beth died in "The Walking Dead" Season 5, Episode 8.

New Character In "The Walking Dead" Season 5B

Kirkman stated in "Talking Dead" that a new character is coming in the second half of Season 5. The character is gay. Zap2it speculated that this new gay character can be Paul Monroe also known as Jesus.

"Paul Monroe, known as 'Jesus,' I think is an interesting character that's emerged in the comic book series that is going to be a very cool character when we get around to him in the TV show," Kirkman said to Zap2it at San Diego Comic-Con.

In "The Walking Dead" Season 5B, the survivors are out on the road and the show is entering a new phase.

Before the West Coast could watch the midseason finale, the Facebook page of "The Walking Dead" posted a photo of Daryl Dixon carrying Beth Greene's lifeless body with the caption "RIP Beth."
