A man has uploaded on YouTube a video of his memorable marriage proposal last Thursday, Sept. 18, and it became viral. In the brief video, it was the man who got surprised during his paddle boat ride proposal because he dropped the engagement ring in the water.

According to Huff Post's Weddings report, a man named Shane decided to ask the magic question to his girlfriend on a paddle boat ride with their friends witnessing the important moment between the couple. However, Shane's girlfriend got so excited that her sudden motion turned the event on a different direction.

"A couple of weeks ago I proposed to my girlfriend. Here is what happened," Swilk 16 posted as a description to the YouTube video titled "Botched Proposal." Shane dropped the engagement ring he was holding when his girlfriend hit his hand out of the blue while laughing after seeing some friends holding up banners with the important "Will you marry me?" question written.

Shock, an awkward moment of silence and suppressed laughter from Shane's friends followed. "Oh my God," the man repeatedly stated in the video as his friends immediately jumped in the water to help find the missing engagement ring while his shocked girlfriend covered her mouth with her hands.

The video did not reveal if Shane and his friends succeeded in finding the engagement ring or if Shane's girlfriend answered yes to his marriage proposal. A Mashable report pointed out that making a marriage proposal on a paddle boat ride with an expensive engagement ring may not be a good idea.

On the other hand, a Mirror report suggested that the man may never do anything romantic again with the risk of losing an important jewelry after what happened during his marriage proposal. At the moment, the viral video has garnered over two million views on YouTube with mixed reactions from the viewers.

Some comments found the marriage proposal hilarious while the others criticized the man's paddle boat proposal by commenting that the guy should have proposed to his girlfriend on the ground or even described the group's reaction to be a fake one. Have a look at the video below.
