Victoria's Secret model Yfke Sturm comatose after tragic surfboard accident

Victoria’s Secret model Yfke Sturm is reportedly still in a coma after a motor surfboard accident left her with a fractured skull and severe spinal injuries. She is currently confined in a hospital in Naples where doctors are still monitoring her condition.
The accident reportedly happened while the 33-year-old London-based model was on a vacation in Italy, near the island of Ischia. It’s reported Sturm was riding a motorised surfboard when she fell into the water. According to the Evening Standard, Yfke tried to swim off shore to safety but was hit instead by another rider.
Mirror UK has posted a photo to show what a motorised surfboard looks like. According to the site, the model was airlifted to a hospital in Naples for treatment. Sturm is believed to be at risk of permanent paralysis although there has been no update yet regarding her present condition.
Tragically, the accident happened just a month after she gave birth to her first child with her 24-year-old boyfriend named Constance Jablonski. Her last Facebook entry in August was a photo showing her cradling her baby with her French supermodel boyfriend. She had captioned the photo, “Words can not descibe how excited we are for the arrival of our son Alexander!!” Sturm was reportedly previously married to businessman Imad Izemrane for three years.
Prayers and messages of well-wishes have started to pool in on her post. One fan wrote, “my prayers go out to her god bless I will pray everyday is okay even know I don't know her I hate to see such a freak happened to such a young mom and beautiful girl god bless her,” while another said, “My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.”
Yfke was born in Almere, Flevoland and became the 1997 International Elite Model at the age of 15. She was scouted by a modelling agency in 1997 and has since modelled for various designer labels, including Calvin Klein, Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Victoria’s Secret. Aside from modelling, she has also hosted the show “Holland’s Next Top Model.”
