Nina Dobrev And Ian Somerhalder Wins Favorite On-Screen Chemistry For 'The Vampire Diaries' At The 2014 People's Choice Awards

The next episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 will be exploring on the humanity of TVD character Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola). A released promo video teases that the fans will be seeing a different Caroline in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, Episode 16 titled “The Downward Spiral.”

The voiceover in the promo video commented that someone is going mental when the CW TV series returns on Thursday night, March 12. Stefan (Paul Wesley) tells Elena (Nina Dobrev) that Caroline is going to snap.

In “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, Episode 15 titled “Let Her Go,” Caroline decided to turn off her humanity to take away the pain of losing her mom, Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre). “Uh-oh, Caroline fly off the rails? If so, I called it,” Damon declares while talking on the phone.

Caroline admits to Elena that she flipped her humanity switch. Then, the blonde vampire describes the experience to be “weird.”

Caroline can also be seen in the promo video feeding on humans. In the previous episode, Elena has warned Caroline that turning off the humanity switch will be deadly.

However, Caroline argued that she has more control over her vampirism than Elena when she turned off her humanity because her younger brother, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), died. The previous episode also introduced interesting storylines for the upcoming episodes of the CW TV series. Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) found out that she is pregnant after transferring her magic to Kai (Chris Wood).

Alaric (Matt Davis) asked Jo to marry him. Matt (Zach Roerig) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) considered joining the officer training program after Sheriff Forbes’ work in Mystic Falls inspired them.

Another interesting storyline in the upcoming episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 will involve Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) mother. “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, Episode 16 titled “The Downward Spiral” is directed by TVD cast member Ian Somerhalder which is scheduled to air on Thursday night, March 12, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
