‘Titanfall 2’ dev brings new video series to discuss matchmaking, single-player campaign development
Fans of the mecha shooter from Respawn Entertainment will be happy to know that the developer will be giving fans a close glimpse of the game’s sequel. This will come by way of a video series that will showcase the development of “Titanfall 2.”
There’s already one video, which is an intro the video series, where the developer shares what exactly fans can expect with the new series. Here, “Titanfall 2” Producer Drew McCoy lays the basic groundwork on what exactly the video series is trying to cover.
“How we’re hosting servers… we’re changing a lot of our matchmaking system so you can find better games quicker. We’ve added this awesome new thing called networks, which allows you to make groups of friends and play together a lot easier,” said McCoy in the intro video.
McCoy also touched on the fact that the progression system will be showcased during the video series. The goal for the video series is to let hardcore fans to get involved and informed about how “Titanfall 2” is being made behind the scenes.
Fans who want to get more details other than what the developer initially planned can give the team some ideas on what else can be covered. The social media lines for Respawn is in place, and McCoy did invite players to give them a shout on what they would want to hear from the developers.
In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Respawn’s Lead Engineer Jon Shiring shared some details on the team’s approach towards creating a single-player experience. Shiring stated that “Titanfall 2” will be different because the way the developer worked on the campaign was a new angle compared to previous games.
Perhaps the biggest addition would be the new take on mobility and movement for the pilot. Not only did this allow the developers to chase a new creative approach, but also deliver fans a way to enjoy the game in a whole different “crazy” light.
“Titanfall 2” will launch on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 28. A beta for the multiplayer mode will be released sometime before the release date.
