Fans can look forward to seeing more “Supergirl” episodes after the CW announced in January that the show has been renewed for another season. But before the third season comes, the second half of the season still has a lot to show, including seeing more of Kara (Melissa Benoist) as a reporter.

“Supergirl” season 2 episode 18 will feature Kara’s day job. Producer Andrew Kreisberg previously hinted about what to expect in the upcoming episode of the show, saying it will talk about being a journalist.

The said episode is titled “Ace Reporter,” in which Kara’s boss, Snapper Carr (Ian Gomez), is expected to play a pivotal part. Kreisberg has assured fans that the day job of the series’ superhero is something that is very important for them too.

“It’s about Kara and journalism. That’s been very important to us, especially in the times we now find ourselves living in,” the series producer told Rotten Tomatoes. Kreisberg has also acknowledged that the show is one of the few that has a journalist as a lead character.

In episode 18, Kreisberg said that viewers will get a broader look of journalism. “We really get a chance to talk about the importance of journalism and the importance of journalistic ethics and how important having the objective truth be out there now,” he added.

It seems Kara will be busy with her day job and taking on her role as Supergirl since she has to deal with another villain in season 2. Teri Hatcher was recently cast as one of the show’s villains. “She is so not playing Lois [Lane] and she is so not playing any character I've ever seen her play before,” Kreisberg said of Hatcher’s character.

The actress’ casting in the TV series reunites her with her “Lois & Clark” leading man, Dean Cain (Jeremiah). When asked if their characters’ paths will cross in the show, the series producer gave a positive reply. “They would love to. Yeah, I mean, there's a plan,” series boss Andrew Kreisberg told TV Guide at a press screening.

The show also stars Mehcad Brooks (Jimmy Olsen), Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), Jeremy Jordan (Winslow "Winn" Schott), David Harewood (Hank Henshaw), Floriana Lima (Maggie Sawyer) and Chris Wood (Mon-El) among others. Fans will get to see more of Kara as a journalist in season 2 episode 18 and other upcoming episodes of the show. “Supergirl” season 2 airs in Australia on Fox8 every Tuesday at 9:10 a.m.
