The Supanova Pop Culture Expo 2013 in Brisbane, Australia ran from Nov. 8-10, 2013 at the RNA Showgrounds. Supanova is an annual event that celebrates everything about Pop Culture including TV shows, films, games, anime, comic books, manga, science fiction (sci-fi) and cosplay. It also features special guests such as "Game of Thrones" (GOT) series author George R.R. Martin and some actors from the GOT TV series.

Martin was joined by GOT actors Mark Addy who played the ill-fated Robert Baratheon, Michelle Fairley who played the Starks' matriarch, Catelyn and Jerome Flynn who plays Bronn, the sellsword hired by Tyrion Lannister to act as his personal guard. This is their first Australian media conference.

Martin commented on the GOT fan fiction based on his novels from "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.

"It's a lazy way to go when you're just taking my characters," he said in the Sydney Morning Herald report.

"I recognise that it's an act of love ... I would rather they make up their own characters and their own stories and not just borrow my world," Martin added.

He also commented about Australia being notoriously famous as the place where GOT is downloaded the most.

"In one sense it shows a tremendous interest in the show," Martin said in the Sydney Morning Herald report.

"[But] if people were actually paying for the show, all that money could go into the show, we could have more special effects and more dragons and more actors, that would be good," he added.

Meanwhile, Addy talked about being part of GOT and having his character die as well as watching other characters die in the shocking "Red Wedding" episode in Season 3.

"It's great to be a part of something so strong and so beautifully written that you have that wealth of characterisation, [but] they are expendable," Addy said in the Sydney Morning Herald report.

Flynn talked about how he loves acting with Peter Dinklage, the actor who plays Tyrion Lannister.

"To have Peter to act with who just captures so much of Tyrion's character and more ... it's one of the reasons it's made it one of the best jobs I've ever had," he said in the Sydney Morning Herald report.

Fairley talked about how she loves playing her character, Catelyn Stark.

"I love Catelyn, I love her emotion, her strength and her power and her passion," she said in the Sydney Morning Herald report.
