Midseason finale of “Suits” Season 5 ended on a cliffhanger. The final moments of the episode saw Mike (Patrick J. Adams) getting arrested for committing fraud -- the fraud on which he had build his legal career. He had decided to start anew, but someone outed him before he could step out of his fraudster life. Aaron Korsh, creator of “Suits,” has said that they are unlikely to reveal the identity of the person who outed Mike in Episode 11, but it will be revealed down the line.

Speaking about who may have outed Mike, Korsh told The Hollywood Reporter, “... It could have been a friend, foe, a neutral party or someone who has never even met Mike.”

“We went through the whole gamut and landed on someone I liked. It's not necessarily poetic, but we’ve seen a lot of different reactions to people discovering Mike’s secret and this is a new reaction,” he said.

Here are some of the speculations about who may have tipped off the federal agency:

Parents of Rachel ( Meghan Markle): Robert Zane ( Wandell Pierce) and Laura Zane (Megan Gallagher): The high-profile couple might have digged into Mike’s background after Rachel asked her mother to stop planning a big-fat wedding for her. Rachel had always wanted a big wedding. If Mr Zane suspects something, it would not take him long to find out the truth. And there is no father who would give his daughter’s hand to a fraudster.

Daniel Hardman (David Costabile): Hardman is also a potential contender who has all the reasons to tip off the federal agency against Mike. He almost threw out Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) from the firm in the mid-season finale, but his archenemies no. 2, Harvey -- first being Jessica -- put a stop on his nefarious design to take back the firm. If Hardman finds out about Mike’s truth, there is no doubt that he would be using it to bury both Jessica and Harvey, and by outing Mike, he may have done just that.

Claire Bowden (Troian Bellisario): Claire, who Mike briefly dated when he was working as a bike messenger, returned in Season 5 and found out that Mike is working at Pearson Specter Litt, and he continues to be a fraudster. She had broken up with him when she had discovered that he had lied to her about going to Columbia law school. She might have used Mike’s secret as a leverage to climb her own corporate ladder, or a jealous Claire might have outed Mike after seeing him and Rachel madly in love.

“Suits” Season 5 is expected to return with new episodes sometime in early 2016.
