“Star Wars: Episode 9” is a good opportunity for the producers to revive the franchise. According to a new report, industry insiders feel that the upcoming film will be a “course correction.” JJ Abrams is back at the helm, and he is tasked with getting the fans excited again. Meanwhile, Abrams is reportedly eyeing a mega deal with a major Hollywood studio.

After the lacklustre response from the fans for “The Last Jedi” and the “Solo” standalone film, the pressure is high for the next “Star Wars” film to deliver. According to a report by Variety, people in Lucasfilm are calling the upcoming movie a “course correction,” which should come as good news for “Star Wars” fans who are disappointed with what’s been happening with the franchise lately.

Meanwhile, Abrams is reportedly looking to bring all his projects, which include movies and TV shows among other things, under one studio. This is being seen as a mega-deal, and Disney is said to be in a good position to seal this deal. Abrams has dealings with Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. too, so it remains to be seen where he will consolidate all his projects.

Meanwhile, “Star Wars: Episode 9” cast member Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) talked about the film in an interview with Vulture. Driver isn’t allowed to start sharing details about the film yet. He kept his comments brief, without revealing any spoilers.

Driver said that they are trying to work towards “something in particular” with Kylo Ren. The actor didn’t elaborate on the comment, and said that he didn’t wish to give anything away about the film or his character.

Filming is currently ongoing for “Star Wars: Episode 9.” The film is set to be released on Dec. 20, 2019 in the US. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date for Australia.
