A new theory about “Star Wars: Episode 8” that has surfaced online talks about Supreme Leader Snoke’s interest in Rey. The theory also teases a possible plot twist when it comes to Kylo Ren and his journey to becoming a Sith Lord.

[Spoiler alert]

When Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) told Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) about how Rey (Daisy Ridley) was strong in the Force; the leader of the First Order told his apprentice to bring her to him. In a theory posted on YouTube, Mike Zeroh suggests that that scene is a “foreshadowing” of what’s to come next.

Mike believes that Snoke will have a big plan for Rey in the next movie. He believes there will be a scene in the very first act of the film in which the leader of the First Order will order his apprentice to find and capture the girl. The most obvious reason for that could be to turn Rey to the Dark Side of the Force.

The theory makes it sound like “Star Wars: Episode 8” could be taking the same route as the original trilogy, Mike admits. But, the new movie, he points out, could do this in a slightly different way.

Mike explains that the movie could start off by hinting at the possibility of Kylo Ren or Snoke trying to turn Rey to the Dark Side, just as Darth Vader and the Emperor tried to turn Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in the original trilogy. However, there could be a twist with Driver’s character resisting the orders of his master.

It will be a long road to redemption for Kylo Ren after he killed his father, but Mike believes there will be a lot of surprises or revelations in “Star Wars: Episode 8” that will keep the fans guessing about what will happen next. Perhaps the most interesting journey in the new trilogy will be that of Ben Solo.
