Plastic surgery is a common procedure for celebrities who have to maintain their beautiful personal appearance. A little tweak for the better may not hurt, but it is a different story if the person is into cosmetic surgery addiction.

Alicia Douvall, a glamour model known to be Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend had experienced the toughest moments of her life. She went broke, left by her boyfriend for a lap dancer, and kicked out of her posh apartment after failing to pay the rent for three months, according to the Daily Mirror. The twist in her lifestyle took a toll on her, deciding to take her life so her daughters will be taken by their fathers and get the financial support they deserve.

"I just kept thinking, 'If I am dead, my children will have a better future.' I felt overwhelmed by guilty - but I could not see a way out," she said in the interview.

Douvall is a self-confessed plastic surgery addict. She underwent more than 350 plastic surgery procedures all over her body with a goal to look like a human Barbie. Unfortunately, the surgeries did not gave her the appearance she wishes to have, instead, it ruined her face, her body, and even the relationship to the people who matters to her the most-her daughters.

She also understood why her string of past relationships did not work well, sharing that no man would be serious enough to be with a person who wanted to have cosmetic surgery in a weekly basis.

The 34-year-old Douvall revealed in an interview with Mail Online that it was her daughter who saved her and made her realize her mistake. Georgia. 18, gave her the ultimatum of leaving her home if she would not stop her plastic surgery addiction.

Some people on the social networking site Twitter, on the otherhand, did not criticise Douvall, rather crediting her for raising a kind daughter.

Easy to criticise #aliciadouvall but she must have done something right to raise such a beautiful, kind and refreshingly innocent girl.

Alicia Douvall's obsession with plastic surgery is not mere vanity, it is Body Dysmorphic Disorder or BDD which is a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It is a psychological problem manifesting in a perceived defect of the person's physical appearance. She believes that her obsession to look beautiful is caused by an unhappy childhood, with her father calling her ugly.

She had her first breast augmentation as a teenager when she was a glamour model and earning a hefty amount. However, despite the changes she paid for her appearance she was never believed being beautiful enough.

Alicia Douvall is now recovering and glad that she survived her life's challenges. She is currently in a relationship with an unnamed billionaire who helped her bounce back in the right shape and mindset. In her interviews, Douvall is warning plastic surgery aspirants that undergoing the procedure is not a cure for life's problems and insecurities.
