Olivia disappeared from Fitz's life without telling him, at a time when he needed her the most. He won the presidential elections but he lost his son. It was hinted in one of the episodes of "Scandal" Season 4 that Fitz had tried to commit suicide. Olivia came back after two months to plan the funeral of Harrison. She did not call Fitz to inform him about her return and has avoided meeting him. Fitz told Mellie that he is not going to see Olivia, adding "it's still you and me." The episode 4 of "Scandal" Season 4, which is titled "Like Father, Like Daughter," is likely to show that Olivia is very much part of Fitz and Mellie's relationship.

The episode 4 features the much anticipated Fitz and Olivia's convesation after the events of last season. The sneak peek suggests that the reunion will be an emotional one. The sneak peek opens with Olivia entering Fitz's office. He is seen with his associate and is working. Once the associates leave, this is the conversation that takes place between Olivia and Fitz:

Olivia: "Burying yourself in work isn't always the best thing when you lose someone."

Fitz: "Running away is not away the best thing, either."

Pause

Fitz: "Liv, where did you go?"

Olivia: "Fitz"

Fitz: "Where did you go? You just took off for two months all alone?"

In the other sneak peek, Mellie sees Olivia and she wants to know what she is doing in her house. Olivia tells her to ask her husband that question. Without answering Mellie's question, Olivia is seen walking away.

It is the case of Fitz's daughter that will bring Olivia back to the Oval office. According to the synopsis of "Like Father, Like Daughter," "Fitz asks Olivia to shut down a situation that could destroy the Grant family's reputation. Meanwhile, Rowan calls on an old friend to do his dirty work."
