American rock band Queens of the Stone Age's latest album "...Like Clockwork" shot to no. 1 on the Billboard Top 200, bumping Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" out of the top spot. The French electronic music duo held the number one position for two consecutive weeks.

The band's sixth studio record sold 91,000 copies within its first week of release on June 4, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It was the first time for both the band and their indie label, Matador Records, to hit a number one record. Their last album to chart only at no. 5 was 2005's "Lullabies to Paralyze" released by Interscope.

It was a big surprise for the band, their label and music critics as well when the album topped the Billboard album charts despite its indie release. Matador only earned top 10 releases from New York City rockers Interpol in 2010 for their self-titled album and singer-songwriter Cat Power for the album, Sun in 2012.

According to Forbes.com, "The success of ... Like Clockwork can first and foremost be attributed to its accessibility. It is the band's sixth studio album, and their first since 2007, so fans have been salivating over its production for quite some time."

"... Like Clockwork" features collaborations from other musicians such as Dave Grohl, Mark Lanegan, Trent Reznor, Alex Turner and Elton John. Grohl, who occasionally plays drums for QOTSA, once again played behind the kit for five songs on the album.

Elton John sang and played piano on "Fairweather Friends." According to Josh Homme, the band's vocalist, John is "obsessed with chasing down new music and understanding what's going on."

On the other hand, Elton John told the Daily Star, "I've never really played on a record with a rock band like that and for me it was one of the most exciting things I've ever done," and added "I think it's probably the best rock album by any band in about five or six years."
