“Prison Break” Season 5 has landed in a soup even before hitting the floors. The latest buzz about the show is that the premiere date of the fifth season of “Prison Break” is coinciding with the release date of “Legends of Tomorrow” and this may delay the production of the show.

Interestingly, “Legends of Tomorrow” also features both the lead actors of “Prison Break,” Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. The 16-episode series of “Legends of Tomorrow” has created a created a minor trouble for the showrunners of “Prison Break” as they will now have to reschedule the shoot of the show. Purcell confirmed that Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox are amidst the process of negotiating the complexities over the date clash, TV Line reported.

“There are a lot of moving parts to that conversation, but we are hopeful that we’ll be able to shoot something this spring. Prison Break is taking its cue from Legends, which is the priority. So we’re aiming for spring,” the website quoted Miller as saying.

It was earlier reported in 2015 that “Prison Break” Season 5 is set to see light of the day in March 2016. However, this now appears to be a distant reality. The news of the show's revival has fuelled the speculations of the stars that are set to reprise their role in the fifth edition. While it has been confirmed that Purcell and Miller will re-portray their roles of Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, nothing yet has been confirmed by other actors of the show.

“I would describe it as a bit of a sequel. It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. I don’t think [exec producer] Paul [Scheuring] knows exactly where he’s going over the 10-episode arc, but it definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience,” Fox CEO Dana Walden said while divulging the details of the fifth season of “Prison Break” in 2015.
