The CW TV series "The Vampire Diaries" got renewed for another season but a cast member declared that he is uncertain of the show's fate after season 7. Actor Paul Wesley, who portrays TVD character Stefan Salvatore, shared in an interview that he is "not sure" what will happen next to the supernatural drama TV series.

In a Collider.com interview, the 32-year-old actor-director admitted that "The Vampire Diaries" will have another round but he is not aware of what will happen to the show past season 7. Paul Wesley admitted that he currently enjoys his work in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 as an actor and director.

"I'm directing it now and so that, to me, is like this really new thing. I think if it weren't for the directing maybe I would be feeling somewhat stagnant," Wesley stated. The CW star further teased that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will be interesting because of dynamics shift.

However, Paul Wesley added that he is also uncertain if the CW TV series will still have the same cast members. "It'll be interesting to see what they come up with. And then I don't know what's gonna happen past that. I just, I don't know," the actor declared.

In "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, the fans will be saying goodbye to actor Steven R. McQueen, who portrays character Jeremy Gilbert, soon. It also looks like Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre), who has glioblastoma, will have a heartbreaking departure unless her daughter, Caroline (Candice Accola), finds a cure.

The synopsis for the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 11 titled "Woke Up With a Monster" teased that Caroline will head to North Carolina with Stefan hoping that she can find a cure for her mother's terminal illness. In the recently released promo video, Sheriff Forbes can be seen asking Stefan to be there for her daughter because Caroline is going to need him when she is gone.

The TVD fans can catch actor Paul Wesley's return to the television screen as vampire character Stefan Salvatore when the second half of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 returns on Thursday night, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
