"Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley took a break from being vampire character Stefan Salvatore in the Atlanta set of the CW TV series to promote his film "Before I Disappear." The 32-year-old actor arrived in Italy to attend the 2014 Venice Film Festival where his latest film became the festival's opener.

Paul Wesley even shared on Twitter his excitement with his trip to Venice. "Atl -> Venice Thrilled to be here! @B4IDisappear @dreamsick @FatimaPtacek," the actor posted on his Twitter account @paulwesley on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The CW star, who arrived on a boat for the 2014 Venice Film Festival on Wednesday morning, waved to the fans and cameras present at the event. "Before I Disappear" co-star Fatima Ptacek joined Paul Wesley in the festival boat. Click HERE to see photos.

In the film, Paul Wesley portrays a character named Gideon while Fatima Ptacek portrays 11-year-old Sophia. "Before I Disappear" is about a guy named Richie (Shawn Christensen), who receives a phone call from his estranged sister asking him to watch over his niece, Sophia, for a couple of hours.

At the moment, Paul Wesley is busy promoting his film and working on the new scenes of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6. Despite the hectic schedule, the actor's relationship with "The Originals" actress Phoebe Tonkin is still going strong.

According to a Fashion & Style report, the couple was last spotted out together on Sunday, July 27, after making their appearances at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. Meanwhile, the latest shared photo on Instagram proves that Paul and Phoebe's relationship is still solid.

The 25-year-old Aussie actress shared on her Instagram account phoebejtonkin an image of her with Paul Wesley sharing food on Saturday, Aug. 16. "Farmers market," Tonkin posted as a caption to the image. Click HERE to see photo.

Filming for the CW TV series "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 and "The Originals" Season 2 are currently underway where Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin portray the characters Stefan Salvatore and Hayley Marshall, respectively.

In the recently released "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 promo video, actor Paul Wesley can be seen telling Elena (Nina Dobrev) that Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) is gone and she needs to say goodbye. The TVD characters will be dealing with the death of Damon and Bonnie (Kat Graham) in the CW TV series' new season premiere episode.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will return on Thursday night, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. EST on the CW Network.
