The host of U.S. reality cooking show, "Top Chef," is learning that juggling a television show, losing the baby weight and raising a toddler can be done if you have a little help, humility and a little bit of know-how.

When asked about how she is coping with being a single mom to daughter Krishna, the 41-year-old doesn't miss a beat when she says it takes a village. Lakshmi also says that by having her daughter nurtured by her aunts, grandparents, cousins and friends, Krishna will learn to behave well with other personality types; something that Lakshmi values.

When asked about how she lost the baby weight, the 5'9 model candidly says that it was really hard for her. Gaining more than 40 pounds while pregnant, she took off the pounds gradually by eating well and exercising. The mother of one also said that being a mother and getting pregnant were such humbling experiences for her as they put her in a position where she was sometimes uncomfortable. She talks about re-learning how to dress herself and never wearing spanks again to Shine, a web magazine for women.

"It was fine but I think I'd rather just look bulgy because it really sucks! I don't want to knock [the product] but having your circulation cut off while you're trying to do your job is not a good thing," the host had this to say about the form molding undergarment.

When asked about how "Top Chef" will be different this year, Lakshmi answered keenly.

"We are bigger than ever. The chefs are great and for the first time we take the show on the road. Usually, we just go to a city and plant it there, so that it interesting [to change locales]. We have a lot of great guest judges this season," Lakshmi reports.
