“Overwatch” players, who are signed in to the game’s public test region (PTR), must be aware of the fact that a big change is coming and it has something to do with Doomfist. A new update rolled out on PTR recently and players can try out the upcoming changes to the game. As per a photo, shared by Blizzard on the game’s official Twitter account, a popular location is seen heavily damaged. The teaser image shows the opening spawn area on the Numbani map, where the airport terminal is severely damaged. The tweet is shared below.

According to Polygon, Blizzard dropped another teaser, earlier this week, introducing “Overwatch” players to Efi Oladele. The new image shows a group of OR15 defence machines that seem to have been destroyed by an unknown assailant. One of the OR15’s is lodged right inside the shattered wall. Meanwhile, Efi has been revealed to be an 11-year-old robotics and artificial intelligence prodigy from Numbani. The character will reportedly play a huge part in the game.

The latest tweet has brought back intense discussions about Doomfist, which is a known evil force, first revealed by Blizzard in 2014. Doomfist could be making a comeback to “Overwatch.” The mantle of Doomfist has been assumed by multiple characters and all of them carried a large powerful gauntlet. The original cinematic teaser showed Reaper and Widowmaker trying to steal the Doomfist gauntlet. However, their efforts are thwarted by Tracer and Winston. The latest photo has shown two crucial changes to the map.

The Doomfist gauntlet was hidden within a payload vehicle on the Numbani map but this could have changed. The airport terminal destruction is now reflected in-game and the Doomfist gauntlet appears to be stolen. This means “Overwatch” players will now face a new threat as someone or something now possesses the Doomfist gauntlet. Rumours suggest that players may “come face-to-face with Doomfist in a new PvE mode, and that Efi will create something to ward off the Doomfist threat, thus ushering in Overwatch’s 24th playable hero.”

Jeff Kaplan, game director, has teased about things unrolling very fast for the next hero of “Overwatch” and also about some of the cool stuff Efi has built. According to GameSpot, Blizzard is yet to reveal the next “Overwatch” character and Kaplan has further teased by saying, “not who you think it is.” Players believe it has to be Doomfist. They have to wait a little longer to know who the character is.
