Behind-the-scenes pictures, sketches, and script and production designs of the “Outlander” season 3 finale have been released online. From the shooting of the Abandawe cave scenes to filming the storm sequence on the ship set, fans can see how the magic was created. The following article contains spoilers.

The script of the finale posted on the official Outlander Community website includes notes and descriptions for each scene. For instance, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) was in a different dress in the carriage at the beginning of the episode because she stopped at the inn to change into a different gown, something that happened off-screen.

The behind-the-scenes pictures of Abandawe show the cast members accompanied by the crew. The big cave set was specifically built for this scene, and it had enough room to accommodate the cast and crew members to film without problems.

Another set of pictures shows the filming of the storm sequence and its aftermath. Balfe appears to have had some fun on the beach as she filmed scenes of reaching the shores of America.

The producers also released the storyboard of the storm sequence. Each shot of the storm was drawn beforehand. Fans can see the sketches of Claire drowning before being saved by Jamie. There are also scenes of the two lovers floating desperately on the ocean, sharing a kiss.

Production of season 4 is ongoing in Scotland. They have already filmed four episodes for next season; the cast and crew are currently on their Christmas break.

There will be a total of 13 episodes in “Outlander” season 4. The cast and crew will be back on the set next year to continue filming, which is expected to last until June. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
