Mr. Gold is in a hurry to leave the Underworld in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. A sneak peek video of the next episode has now surfaced online that shows Mr. Gold leading the heroes in the rescue attempt.

[Spoiler alert]

A scene from the next episode posted on Entertainment Weekly shows the heroes making preparations for a daring rescue attempt to save Hook (Colin O’Donoghue). Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) walks in later and points out how foolhardy the plan is.

Mr. Gold explains that Hades (Greg Germann) knows that they are in the Underworld and would do everything he can to prevent the rescue attempt. He added that a large group going for the rescue would easily alert Hades.

In order to keep Hades from finding out about their rescue, Mr. Gold suggests that only he and Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) go in “with the help of a dead person” in the next episode of “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. The dead person will have to lend the two characters his/her aura, which Mr. Gold will use to hide himself and Emma.

Executive Producer Edward Kitsis revealed that the person whose help Mr. Gold plans to take is Milah (Rachel Shelley). “I can’t think of a couple that has more unfinished business than Milah and Rumple, considering the last time they saw each other, he killed her and then cut her new boyfriend’s hand off,” Kitsis said.

Milah is also Hook’s ex-lover. This adds another dimension to not only Mr. Gold, but also Emma. Kitsis teased that the reunion of these characters would be “awkward.”

Will Mr. Gold’s plan work? The character is eager to get back to Storybrooke and be reunited with his wife. Episode 14 of “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 titled “Devil’s Due” is set to air on March 20.
