The speculations for the Nintendo NX continue as the company remains mum for the most part on the console’s specs and details. Of the newer speculations, there is one circulating recently that hints at the possible power and capability of Nintendo’s upcoming gaming console.

According to GamesRadar, the newest rumour for the Nintendo NX specs comes from an anonymous source that holds a good record when it comes to leaks on Nintendo’s different properties. The source had compared the Nintendo NX’s power to that of the Xbox One.

This makes it quite a powerful device, considering that the Nintendo NX is expected to be a hybrid handheld device. It also upholds its fort as a home console comparable to the two powerhouses in the market today. But the source had added that it will not require a TV box.

Instead, the Nintendo NX will allegedly have an HDMI dongle that will allow the handheld to be plugged into the TV to transform it from a handheld device to a home console. How this is done was not detailed, but the source hinted that the Wii U GamePad’s streaming technology may be at play.

What’s even more interesting is the bit of rumour that the Nintendo NX will also be synced to the player’s smartphone with the use of a Bluetooth. This integration of the experience with the smartphone mimics how Microsoft is looking at the integration of the both the Xbox One and Windows 10 for a smoother and more seamless PC to device to gaming experience.

For now, the rumoured specs and features have not been confirmed by Nintendo, so it’s best to take them with a grain of salt. Of course, in the event that the Nintendo NX will resemble what the anonymous source had described, it will make for quite a formidable console. With the evolving technology, additional accessories for gaming and the continuing growth of smartphone and handheld gaming vs. home consoles, Nintendo NX might strike the sweet spot with the rumoured specs.

The earliest sighting of the Nintendo NX is slated for E3 2016, when Nintendo had promised to showcase the device. However, another report from Extreme Tech suggested that a Christmas launch may be in the cards for the Nintendo NX.

Apart from this, there is also talk that the console will launch with a new “Zelda” title. This is joyous news for fans, though the timeline appears too tight for a comfortable and seamless launch. This is considering how Nintendo itself has not yet concretised any details for the Nintendo NX.
