Best Female Hip Hop Artist Nicki Minaj rapped on her scary near death experience while she was collecting her prize at the BET Awards 2014.

During her acceptance speech posted at the BET Web site, Minaj rambled her words of thank for winning the award five times in a row. She also plugged her upcoming album and expressed her words of thanks to Lil Wayne for his support.

"The other day, literally I didn't tell anybody this, I really thought I was about to die. Like, I was saying my prayers to die. And I didn't even want to call the ambulance because I thought, 'Well if I call the ambulance, it's going to be on TMZ," the Bass singer rapped while some of the audience laughed.

"And I would rather sit there and die," she added. "And it made me realize I don't care what anybody got to say. I'm going to do me."

According to Media Take Out, the 31-year old rapper talked about the incident at the studio where Lil Wayne and a bunch of his crew were smoking tons of weeds and possibly other substances. Nicki Minaj does not smoke weeds but she usually allowed people to smoke around her in the studio.

"These [guys] went overboard with it though. They kept smoking and smoking, till the whole building was full of weed smoke," stated the Media Take Out insider. Minaj reportedly left the studio after she believed that she was getting a contact high. When she arrived home, she had palpipations and had difficulty breathing. The tapper thought she was dying but did not call 911 for help. The feeling eventually passed and she reportedly had the munchies. No wonder she was so dramatic at her BET Awards speech.

Earlier in her speech at the BET Awards, Minaj also focused on authenticity which threw some shade with her rival rapper Iggy Azalea. "My point is, what I want the world to know about is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it."

After which, she raised her fingers to her lips to show a zipper sign signifying that she was not going to say anything anymore followed by a mischievous smile. She then posed and rocked her curves while the crowd went berserk to her apparent call out. The diva then followed her non-verbal cues with words that did not convince the crowd: "No, no, no...no shade."

According to Gawker, Nicki Minaj could have been threatened, pissed off, or legitimately insulted at Iggy Azalea for stealing some of the Bass singer's shine for the first time in years courtesy of Iggy Azalea's single "Fancy." Minaj's acceptance speech at the BET Awards is a way for the rap singer to let the Australian rap rival to know that Minaj's eyes are following Iggy even without looking at her direction.

The Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea got even hotter when Media Take Out revealed that the Australian rapper used to write her own rhymes. Last year, Azalea reportedly negotiated with her mentor T.I. to help her with rhymes in exchange for a large percentage of the 24-year old rapper's royalties and perhaps some extra.

Both rappers performed on stage at the BET Awards night. Nicki Minaj performed her new hit single "Pills N Potions" while Iggy Azalea performed her hit single "Fancy" and "New Mediocre" with her mentor T.I.
