Google has reportedly approved the use of Huawei’s in-house Kirin application processor to power the 2015 Nexus smartphone, replacing the Nexus 6. China’s Huawei has been widely rumoured to take over from Motorola in assembling the native Android flagship phone. Amidst the excitement of the release of Google Nexus 6, NVIDIA gives anticipators a further reason to rejoice. The new HTC Nexus 9 would be launched in late 2014, states reports. Updates regarding the HTC Nexus 9 rumours have made a comeback on the internet, but this time the rumours might be real after all.

Previous reports have claimed that the Nexus 9 tablet will be powered by NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon. Well all these seemed to be mere speculation, until recently, when NVIDIA confirmed the existence of the HTC Nexus 9 tablet. Recently, NVIDIA filed a law suit against Qualcomm and Samsung due to patent infringement. The legal document was posted on the company's website that was removed and was spotted on a blog Bright Side of News. A sentence in the legal documents confirmed the Nexus 9 release.

The legal document states, "The NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor is so powerful that it is being used in products other than smartphones and tablets. Acer is using NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor in its Chrome book personal computer and the Tegra K1 is also used by the Lenovo's Terminator S9, a 50 inch 4K smart TV." Exhibit 59 States: "The Tegra K1 also powers Google's new Project Tango Development Kit, a tablet computer that will enable users to track and map 3D environments by making over a quarter million 3D measurements every second giving mobile devices a human scale understanding of space and motion. The HTC Nexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014 is also expected to use the Tegra K1."

This could mean that the Nexus 9 does exist in reality and it will be released in the third quarter of the year that is the end of September. Speculations are that the device could be announced in the beginning of October. Many were in anticipation that Google I/O would unveil the HTC made Nexus 9 in June this year but unfortunately it was not so. This time round the scene seems to be that Google might after all release the tablet next month with the latest Android update. According to reports the Nexus 9 tablet would sport an 8.9 inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,660 pixels with a 64 bit Tegra K1 processor, 5 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The rear facing camera is 8 mega pixels and it would also include the HTC Boom Sound speakers.

Apparently, it's better to wait and watch. If the specifications are indeed true the Google Nexus 9 will give a tough competition to Samsung Galaxy Tab S as well as the Apple iPad Air 2.
