The fans will be seeing more of actor Chris Wood in an upcoming pilot series. Executive producer Julie Plec has enlisted “The Vampire Diaries” star Chris Wood in the CW Network’s upcoming new series titled “Cordon.”

A Variety report confirmed that actor Chris Wood, who portrays Kai in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, is set to portray the role of a former renegade turned cop named Jake in executive producer Julie Plec’s upcoming drama series titled “Cordon.” Chris Wood’s character in the pilot series is one of the people trapped inside the Cordon.

Jake’s first instinct is to save himself from the situation but he will find himself protecting the people who need him the most. The report further added that the TV series is based on the original Belgian series that Carl Joos created.

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that “Interstellar” actor David Gyasi, Christina Moses and Kristen Gutoskie has been cast as well as the other lead stars in the CW Network’s drama pilot. “Cordon” accounts the outcome of an epidemic outbreak in Atlanta. David Gyasi will be portraying the role of Jake’s (Chris Wood), Atlanta police major Alex “Lex” Carnahan.

The character is described as a “resolute, loyal and good-hearted police officer who is responsible for maintaining the cordoned area. Christina Moses will be portraying Lex’s girlfriend Jane, who is also trapped inside the Cordon in an Atlanta office.

As for Kristen Gutoskie, the actress will portray another character trapped inside the walls of Atlanta Midtown Hospital. Kristen Gutoskie’s character in the CW pilot series is named Katie, a grade-school teacher and a single mom in her 20s.

In “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, actor Chris Wood portrays the “Big Bad” villain of the CW TV series. The 26-year-old “The Carrie Diaries” star has been doing an impressive job of portraying the sociopath witch named Kai Parker.

The upcoming episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 will continue to explore on the Gemini Coven, the prison worlds and Kai’s plans as the leader of the Gemini Coven after completing the twin merge ceremony with Luke (Chris Brochu). Kai has also tricked Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, Episode 16 titled “Let Her Go” in giving her magic powers to him.

The next episode will have Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) asking Kai for some answers about his knowledge on the existence of the prison worlds. It has been revealed that Damon’s mom, Lily Salavtore (Annie Wersching), is one of the people placed in the prison worlds.

The fans can still watch actor Chris Wood as Kai Parker in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6. The CW TV series is scheduled to return with Episode 16 titled “The Downward Spiral” on Thursday night, March 12, at 8/7c on the CW Network.
